About Les Sparks

Hello my name is Les Sparks and I thank you for visiting my web
site. Please let me tell you a little bit about myself. I began my workout
career as a junior in high school because I wanted to gain strength and size for
football. I gained about 12lbs of muscle and had a great senior year, but more
than anything else, I became infatuated with working out and the benefit it was
providing my body. It was at this formative age that I dedicated myself to learn
all I could about exercise and nutrition.
So in my early 20's I began competing in bodybuilding. It was
during this period of my life I received the practical knowledge of what it
takes to get into top physical shape. I learned a lot about exercise and gained
a very crude knowledge of nutrition. I realized to get to an education level I
wanted to be at, it would call for a formal education.
So off to college I went where I received the experience of being
a collegiate strength and conditioning coach, and a dual bachelors degree in
Human Nutrition and Fitness (Exercise Physiology).
Since graduating from college I have been certified as a personal
trainer form American College of Sports Medicine (A.C.S.M.) and American Counsel
on Exercise (A.C.E.) and as a Nutritionist I am a Genetic Key Certified Coach
(G.K.C.C.)
Well there you have it, I am done right? I have the practical
experience of body building and successfully competed for many years. I have the
formal accredited education in Human Nutrition and Fitness and I have been
certified as a personal trainer from two programs and am certified as a
nutrition coach.
From my perspective the exercise part of the equation in fitness
and health is primarily a matter of just doing it. It is my job to assure you
exercising in a safe and effective manner to get the results you are seeking.
However the nutritional side of the equation is where most people "fail". Not
from a lack of trying, or willpower, but because society, and in particular the
media, have really fed us a diet of propaganda. I know of no other industry that
has more censorship than that of the health care industry, but that is a story
left for my seminars. As a nutritionist, I will help you identify your genetic
type, counsel you on the food choices you need make to assure your success not
only in weight loss, but also to improve your overall health.
