I believe that first and foremost your diet needs to be as healthy as possible and also matched to your genetic type. Then due to several factors like soil depletion, lack of food variety, lifestyle factors, etc....supplementing your diet could be a prudent thing.

That would somewhat be dependent on your goals and initial fitness level, but an average workout is about one hour, we can always tailor a workout for your time.
